Larry Dale Houpt , 63, of San Angelo went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday November 10, 2011. Viewing will start at 10:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2011 with a catered family visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday November 12, 2011 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Larry was born in Plainview, Texas to Hank and Laverine (Chapman) Houpt and moved to San Angelo at a young age and lived the rest of his life in San Angelo. He graduated from Lakeview High School and then worked at RG Barry's Manufacturing for 30 years until he retired. He was a longtime member of Harris Avenue Baptist Church. He fought a long hard battle in his life, having his first brain tumor at 13 years old and he fought it for 51 years until succumbing to Leukemia after being diagnosed in September of 2011 and now joins his mom and dad who preceded him in death whom he loved dearly. Larry is survived by his wife Marcia Brash Houpt of Rowlett; brother, Jimmy Charles Houpt and his wife Darla of Grandbury; niece, Meredith Novak and her husband Eric of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; nephew, Brandon Houpt of Grandbury; step-children, Suzzanne , Gwendolyn, and James of Dallas; seven step-grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Also aunt and uncles, Christeen and Curtis Lebow; Opal Hudson; Beverly and Frank Cortese all of San Angelo; Sharon and Llyod Eubanks of Cleburne; Helen and Ramond Nance of Abilene; Maydene and Billy Chapman; Wanda and Sonny Chapman; June and Jerry Chapman all of Lamesa; Johnny and Elsie Chapman of Jal, NM; and a lot of cousins he was very close to. Memorials may be made to Hospice Plus; 3100 McKinnon Street, Suite 200; Dallas, Texas 75201 and HHC for the loving care that he received.
