Larry Joe Norris, 89, of Water Valley, passed away on December 22, 2014 in Lubbock. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Water Valley Community Center with the Pastor Betty Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow at Water Valley Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Larry was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Thomas F. and Sudie A. Norris on June 26, 1925. After graduating from high school in Tahlequah, he served in the 91st Division Infantry of the United States Army during World War II. While in France, he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. At the end of the war, he attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman where he met his future wife, Mary Agnes Demere. They were married on February 18, 1950 in San Angelo. He worked as a salesman for Graybar Electric Company for thirty years. Larry and Mary Agnes lived in El Paso, Texas for twenty-eight years and served as active charter members of Mountain View United Methodist Church. There they raised family, modeling the value of service to church and community. They returned to Mary Agnes' childhood home in Water Valley in 1983. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, four brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Linda and Dave Swartz of Lubbock, Texas, Nancy and Jim Woolway of Coronado, Calif., Karen and Ron Stroope of Smyer, Texas, and Deana and Greg Gray of Sweetwater, Texas. He leaves ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be include his grandsons, Alan Swartz, Brian Swartz, Kary Cooper, Brent Longworth, Rob Underwood and his nephews, Wade Demere and Craig Demere. Memorials may be given to the Water Valley Exes Scholarship Fund. The family of Larry J.
