Larry F. Pick, 85, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, in San Angelo.
Memorial Mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in San Angelo with Father Joey Faylona, officiating. Military honors will follow at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel by the Goodfellow Funeral Honor Guard. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Pick was born July 23, 1939, in Adrian, Minnesota. Larry graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Lismore, Minnesota. After he graduated Larry enlisted into the US Air Force where he served twenty years. He did a tour in Vietnam in 1968 and was a proud veteran. Larry retired from the US Air Force in 1977 as a Senior Master Sergeant. Larry was a Big Spring resident for 45 years before moving to San Angelo in 2019. Larry married Joan Rohm in 1974 in South Dakota. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2019. He was a Century 21 franchisee, and owned and operated L&M Properties, a property management company, in Big Spring. Larry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in San Angelo. He loved fishing, traveling, playing Soduku, and working in his yard.
Survivors include a son, Steven L. Pick of Chicago; a stepdaughter, Goldie Rebecca O'Neal and husband Robert Chappell of Grand Junction, Colorado; three sisters, Bernice Bordenave of The Villages, Florida, Carol Obele and husband Gary of Le Sueur, Minnesota, and Cindy Schreier and husband Chris of Eagon, Minnesota; a granddaughter, Courtney Sims of Las Vegas, Nevada; a great grandson, Peyton Sims of Las Vegas, Nevada; the lady that he loves, Mackie Hays of San Angelo; her daughter, Jeanne Niklasch and husband Mike of Gause, Texas, her granddaughter, Nicole Niklasch of Knoxville, Tennessee. Larry was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kristi Smith.
The family would like to thank the ICU nurses at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, who cared for Larry in his final illness; and also Louise McCullough, M.D., of McGovern Medical School in Houston, who provided invaluable advice to the family about Larry's care.
