Lawanda Bingamon Deans, 77, of San Angelo, passed away on Friday April 4, 2014 in San Angelo. Visitation will be Sunday April 6, 2014 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with Paul Shero of Southgate Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Voca Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Lawanda was born in Drumright, Oklahoma to Perla and Leona Bingamon on November 30, 1936. She married J. B. Deans, Jr. on March 28, 1980. She worked for Baptist Memorial for 15 years and retired there in 2006. She was a member of Southgate Church of Christ involved in the Ladies Bible Class at her church. Lawanda was a devoted wife and cared deeply for her children and grandchildren. The family will miss the coffee conversations in which they shared many common interests. Her love, care and concern for all her family will be sorely missed. Not only was she a dedicated wife and mother, but held an excellent work ethic in any pursuit, not to mention the strong Christian convection she held for the Lord and her church family. Lawanda is preceded in death by her son, Roger Cunningham and her parents; Perla and Leona Bingamon. Lawanda is survived by her husband, J.B. Deans, Jr.; step-daughters and spouses: Alanda and Charles Beatty of San Angelo, Vicky and Keith McCutchen of San Angelo, Bettye and Dick Halstead of Waxahachie, and Gina and Robert Chaney of San Angelo; a grandson, Roger James Cunningham, step-grandchildren and spouses: Vanessa and Chris Conatser, Brooke and Kyle Sanford, Shawn and Ricky Kozlovsky, Britney and Zach Hanna, Landon and Megan Beatty, Ryan Chaney; step-great grandchildren: Taylor, Kadan, Jett, Addison, Zoey, Aubree, Hazel and Bella. Pallbearers will be Charles Beatty, Keith McCutchen, Robert Chaney, Kyle Sanford, Ryan Chaney, Zach Hanna, Ricky Kozlovsky and Dick Halstead. Memorial may be given to Southgate Church of Christ Academy and Odyssey Hospice. The family of Lawanda Deans wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Odyssey Hospice and especially to nurses Helen and Cynthia who cared for her daily needs with cheerful hearts and loving concern, Southgate Church of Christ for the many cards, visitors, food, for the generous neighbors random acts of kindness, for the daily prayers from friends and family.
