Lawrence Van Taylor

Lawrence Van Taylor, 86, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, in Menard. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 28, 2018, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev, J.T. Tucker, chaplain of Shannon Medical Center, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangement are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mr Taylor was born April 26, 1932 in Temple. He married Emily Kathilene "Kathy" Maresh on April 2, 1953 in San Angelo. Lawrence was a 1951 graduate of Central High School. Lawrence attended University of Texas. He was a resident of Menard for 5 years, moving from San Angelo. Lawrence owned and operated Taylor Printing Company retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Lawrence was a member of the Rotary Club, a board member of the Salvation Army and a member of the San Angelo Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf with his son and getting together with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Van and Verne Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Taylor of the home; a son, Stephen Taylor and wife Susan of San Angelo; a daughter, Donna Waggoner and husband Nick of Menard; six grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Brooke, Lindsey, Justin and Zack; and eight great-grandchildren.
