Leah Renee Nixon

Leah "Renee" Nixon age 55 passed from this life on September 24, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 1st at 2:00 PM in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Chaplain Jim Bush will officiate.
Renee was born February 25, 1966, in San Angelo to her parents Ronnie Leroy and Connie Steadman Nixon Delapena. She graduated from San Angelo Lakeview High School in 1984.
She worked as a home manager at the State Supported Living Center for fifteen years until her health prevented her.
Renee was a lover of all thing's "sport" well except for golf. She loved the UT Long Horns, the Dallas Cowboys, basketball, football and enjoyed time spent with family and friends at these events or watching on TV. Renee also loved being on the water, boating and skiing, and was particularly fond of the ocean.
If you were lucky enough to know her, then you were family to her. She loved without limits and had a heart of gold. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and loved them dearly; however, she had one true love of her life and that was her constant canine companion, her baby, Roxy. Roxy never left Renee's side.
Renee was preceded in death by her father Ronnie Leroy Nixon in 2019 and granddaddy Roy Leo Nixon, Renee was his only granddaughter, they had a special bond and she was the light of his life.
She is survived by her mother, Connie Steadman Nixon Delapena of San Angelo; her brothers, Curtis Nixon and his husband Rob of New York City and Randi Nixon and his wife Nicole of San Angelo; her aunt Kellie Schruhl and husband Joe of Burk, Virginia; her step-sisters, Leslie Nixon of Bronte and Valerie Nixon Hamlin of Cisco; her grandmother, Bernice Nixon Pruitt of Bronte; her special friends Amanda and Carrie Collins of San Angelo; several nieces and nephews; and her fierce protector and best friend, Roxy.
