Lee Lishka, age 87, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at a local nursing home. A memorial service will held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Craig Meyers and Rev. Glenda Harbert officiating. Lee was born in Bloomington, IL on June 5, 1921 to Lee and Alta Lishka. He married Majorie P. Lowery on May 5, 1946 in Normal, IL. Lee served his country in the Marines and the Army. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War where he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts most of his life. Lee was awarded the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts. Lee retired from GTE after 30 plus years of service. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie on May 31, 1994; his son, Mike and a daughter, Sue Anne. Lee is survived by his sons; Lee Lishka and wife, Liz of Crittenden, KY; Terry Lishka and wife Gayla of Santa Anna, TX and Tim Lishka of San Angelo; grandchildren; Terry Lishka of Brownwood, Amanda Crossley of Santa Anna, Maegan Minshew of Lake Brownwood; Courtlyn Lishka of Santa Anna; his sisters; Doris, Judy and Maxine. The family would like to thank the staff of Legend Oaks and Vista Care Hospice for all their help with our dad in his last days.
