Leo A. Nanez, 86, of San Angelo passed away Friday, January 09, 2009 at a local nursing home. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. today, January 11, 2009 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Services are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Leo was born in Knickerbocker on November 1, 1922 to Albino and Margaret (Caballero) Nanez. He owned his own landscaping business. Leo married Sarah Gomez in San Angelo. She preceded him in death while they were living in Dallas, TX. He is also preceded in death by a brother, George Nanez of Denver, CO and a sister, Olivia Garcia of Plainview, TX. Leo is survived by his sisters; Carmen Ramirez, Lupe Chavez both of San Angelo and Catherine Davila of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his nephews and great nephews.
