Leonard Neil Ferry, 97 passed away on February 19, 2017 to be with his Lord. There will be a remembrance of life ceremony 10:00am Friday, February 24, 2017 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. His ashes will be buried in the Ferry family cemetery in Sheldon MO. Neil was born to wonderful parents, Windsor and Lois Ferry in Sheldon. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Kansas as a mining engineer and metallurgist. In WWII, he served as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army Corp of Engineers in the Pacific and European theaters. After the war, he furthered his graduate work at the University of Arizona. Neil spent all his life in engineering and worked for several companies. He retired after working 20 years for the Ralph N. Parsons Company at their international headquarters in Pasadena, CA as a senior process engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Winford and son, Clinton Ferry. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Terry, son, Leonard N. Filley and wife, Barbara, daughters in law, Laurita Ferry and Janet Filley, grandsons, Aaron and Robert (Paula) Ferry, granddaughters, Stephanie (Juan) Benitez and Stacie (Charles) Skarin, last and not least, great grandchildren are Ava and Jayden Benitez and Rocky, his beloved mutt. Neil, you were so special and will be loved forever!
