Leonida Quejada Anderson, passed away on October 4, 2010 in San Angelo, Texas. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. No services will be held. Nida was born in Oas, Albay, Philippines to Alfredo and Concepcion Helario. She attended school in the Philippines. She married Charles Anderson on June 14, 1976 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She worked as a cosmetologist, owning her own shop, and worked as a supervisor for Londontown Manufacturing in Portsmouth, Virginia. Nida was a member of several organizations, most notably in San Angelo, the Asian American Women's Association and the Twin Mountain Tippers, a dance group that was instrumental in bringing the Senior Games to San Angelo for several years. She received many medals as a member of the Tippers during competitions throughout Texas. Nida was extremely proud of her native culture and country, the Philippines, but one of the greatest days of her life was the day she became a citizen of her adopted country, the United States of America. Nida is preceded in death by her parents.Nida is survived by her husband, Charles, Mother-in-law, Mildred Anderson; children, Marie Good and husband John of Panama City Beach, Florida, Vallarie (Lori) Crespo of San Angelo, Texas, and Debbie Anderson of San Angelo. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Rex Good, Dot Fidler, Jay Wiant, Shane Kuehn, LaDwana Kuehn, and Dylan Kuehn. Also surviving is a special niece, Nancy Lacson and husband Jimmy, and their two children, Jina and James. The family ofNida wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many people who cared for her during the past five years, especially Dr. Raymund Untalan, Dr. Bobby Niemann, and Dr. James Yost, their staffs, the entire staff of San Angelo Community Medical Center including a special thank you to the Rehab Unit for their tremendous work after two major strokes. In addition, many thanks to the staff of Shannon Medical Center, Vista Care of San Angelo, and Park Plaza Nursing Center for their care and support during these last few days. Also great gratitude goes out to members of Asian American Women's Association for their friendship and support.
