Lewis Milton Wardlow, 83, of San Angelo passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his residence. Lewis was born on October 24, 1925 in Texarkana, Texas to George Thomas Wardlow and Rosa Belle Lynch. He married Mattie Mae Chism in Brownwood, Texas on October 4, 1947. He was in the United States Navy serving during World War II. After the military, Lewis worked in the grocery store business and drove test cars. He was a member of the VFW, Knights of Columbus, and Wall Polka Clubs and loved to dance, especially the waltz, and always worked in the yard. Family visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00PM Thursday February 5, 2009 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Jim Benson officiating. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Wardlow; his parents; and brother, Henry G. Wardlow. He is survived by his daughters, Pat Kemp and husband Durward of San Angelo; Carrol Kelley and husband Andy of Midland; grandchildren, David, Chris, Thomas Kemp, and Eric, Jason, Shane Morris; and 12 great grandchildren. Life long friend Louise Moulton, many other friends, and his dog, Ginger.
