Linda Evans Stewart Linda Evans Stewart, 72 of San Angelo went to be with her Lord on Friday February 24, 2012 at Meadow Creek Nursing Center. Family visitation will be Monday February 27th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday February 28, 2012 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with James Mitchell, former pastor of Immanuel Baptist, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Linda was born October 26, 1939 in Vernon, Texas to Henry R. and Herma (Bass) Evans. She met the love of her life, Paul Stewart and lucky for him, Paul had three beautiful little children that she fell in love with right away. She married Paul Stewart on June 19, 1965 in San Angelo and they later added a fourth little one to the loving family. They shared 34 wonderful years together until he passed on February 9, 1999. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mom was well known for her special cooking and baking abilities. She was an encourager to those who came into her life. She loved her last year at Meadow Creek Nursing Center; it gave her an opportunity with her ministry to witness too many whom she came in contact with. The way she endured her illness, never complaining of pain or seeking pity was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her grandchildren and great granddaughter were the lights of her life for which she enjoyed teacher her cooking and baking so they could carry on her legacy. Pallbearers will be nephews Milton Sargent, John Sargent, Jock Stewart, John Stewart, Jeff Stewart and Leland Turnbow. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Stewart, mother Herma Carper, a sister; Barbara Parks, a brother; Tommy Evans and numerous brothers and sister in laws. Survivors include her son; Paul (Ed) Stewart Jr., and wife, Barbara, daughters; Tammy Howell and husband, Tim, Katherine Smith-Sturgill and husband, Jim and Melissa Stewart, granddaughters; Amanda Geffers, Balinda Smith, Tessa Stewart and Skylar Stewart, grandson; Austin Howell and his fiancé, Misti Stover, great-granddaughter Kyleigh Geffers, all of San Angelo, sisters-in-law; Shirley Evans of San Angelo and Doris Keeling of Ft. Worth, brother-in-law; al ray of ft. worth, numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the church family at Immanuel Baptist; Dr. Ty Hughston and a very special thanks to the staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Center and Lighthouse Hospice for the loving care shown to her and our family.
