Lonnie Emil Henniger, 95 of San Angelo died August 31, 2007 at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, Tx. Lonnie was born July 24, 1912 in Rockdale, Texas to Paul and Selma Menn Henniger. Lonnie formerly lived in San Angelo and was a long time residence of the Elm Grove community in San Saba Co. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the 78th Infantrany Division in Central Europe, Rhineland and the Ardennes. After the war, he served as an interpreter for his unit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Selma Henniger, three sisters; Maggie Straach, Amanda Nuchols and Mamie Pfeiffer; one brother, Albert Henniger; four nephews, Leonard Doss, Marvin Doss, James Straach and Arvid Pfeiffer. He is survived by his four nieces;Allene McGill, Beulah Collins, Fay Doran and Jerlene Smith; two nephews, Eugene Straach and Clarence Henniger and numerous great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday September 4, 2007 at the Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, Texas. with the Pastor Alan Williams, of Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating.
