Lorraine Westbrook, 98, of San Angelo, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in a local nursing home. Visitation for Mrs. Westbrook will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Melvin Cemetery, in Melvin, TX., with Rev. Bobby Roger of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Lorraine was born November 6, 1906 in Menard, Texas to Dan and Callie Westbrook. Lorraine went to work in 1942 at Mathis Air Force Base in San Angelo, and then transferred to Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. Lorraine later transferred back to Goodfellow Base, in the Finance office, where she was Auditor for the offices in payroll. After World War II, she went to work for Bauer McCann clothing store in the Village shopping center, as a clerk. The store was later bought out by Hemphill Wells Co., where she worked for sixteen years before closing. Lorraine was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors are: One sister:Van D.
