Louis H. Ploussard, 88 of San Angelo passed away on Thursday October 17, 2013 at his home. Memorial services will be 11:00am Wednesday October 23, 2013 at First Christian Church with Rev. Ben Hubert officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Lou was born July 1, 1925 in Farmer City, Ill. to Louis Hubert and Edith Mae (Cahal) Ploussard. He served his country for 20 years as an air traffic controller in the U. S. NAVY during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He then began his second career lasting 27 years as an air traffic controller for the FAA. Lou was very patriotic, loved his dogs and cats and was an excellent photographer. He married Diane Jaeger in Manlius, NY., on August 2, 1980. He was co-owner of Herps & Chirps Uncommon Pets here in San Angelo He is preceded in death by his parents; and a stepson; John Smalley III. Survivors include his wife of 33 years; Diane Ploussard of San Angelo, son; Louis H. Ploussard III of California, daughters; Leigh Ploussard of Michigan, daughter; Paula Roth and husband, Jeff, daughter; Edie Buchanan all of Oregon, son; Jay Ploussard of California, stepson; Eric Smalley and wife, Jill of Colorado and step daughter; Zoe Smalley and husband, Terry of Arkansas, seven grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one on the way. Louis is also survived by his favorite cat, Tripod. Donations in Lou's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Christian Church, 29 N. Oakes, San Angelo, 76903, or your favorite Charity. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Odyssey Hospice and Lou's nurse Dustin, and Drs. Hughston and Cummings for their kind care of Lou throughout the years.
