LUCILE A. SCHMIDT

Lucile Schmidt, 95, passed away on September 30, 2008 at Meadow Creek Nursing Center. Lucile was born on January 1, 1913 in Tom Green County to Oscar Atkinson and Mary Clark Atkinson. She attended school in Mertzon, Texas and later graduated from Sul Ross University with a degree in Education. She then taught schools in Texas and New Mexico for many years. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. On Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hankins of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Lucile was married to Henry Schmidt on October 20, 1939. Henry preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar and Mary Atkinson and her brothers Reginald Atkinson and D. O. Atkinson. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to West Texas Rehab or a charity of choice. The family of Lucile Schmidt wishes to extend a sincere Thank You to the staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Center and to SuAnn Henderson for the care given to Lucile.
