Lucille Dee Foote Coyan passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the age of 88 in San Angelo, Texas. She was born in Villisca, Iowa to Maurice M. and Mayme Peterson Foote on November 29, 1920. She lived most of her early years in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1939. Lucille worked as a journalist for the Council Bluffs Nonpareil and the Santa Ana, California Register. She was employed by the Standard Times from 1963 to 1970. She married Lt. (J.G.) Pat Coyan on August 5, 1944 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Orange, California. At that time Pat was a navy blimp pilot at Naval Air Station in Santa Ana, California. The Coyans moved to San Angelo in 1954. Lucille was a charter member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where she served as a Sunday School teacher and as a directress of the Alter Guild. She is a member of the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd. She was a duplicate bridge enthusiast and attained her Life Master status in the American Contract Bridge League in 1974 and her Gold Life Master award in September 1999. Services for Lucille will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, 3355 W. Beauregard, with the Rev. Stanley A. Burdock, and Rev. Bob Hedges officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Lucille is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Amoroso of Northridge, California: a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sara Coyan of San Angelo. Granddaughter Christi Cole Webb and husband Greg of Houston, Tx, grandsons Kinley Coyan and wife Megan of Sanderson, Tx, Bill Coyan of Carbondale, Colorado, and Greg Amoroso and wife Sandra of Valencia, California. Great granddaughters, Jordan Webb, Cameron Webb, Nicole Amoroso, and Natalie Amoroso. Great-grandsons Jacob Webb, Sean Amoroso, Jack Amoroso, Kelton Coyan and Asa Coyan. A special thank you to all the staff of Hospice of San Angelo and TLC Home Health Care during mom's brief illness.
