Lucy J. Hathway, 65, died peacefully on May 24, 2016 in a local nursing home while attended by family, her Hospice nurse, and nursing home staff. She was born June 15, 1950 to Mary Leonard and John Hathway. Lucy attended primary school in San Angelo, secondary school in Denton, undergraduate studies at North Texas State University in Denton, and graduate school at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. Prior to her final illness, Lucy worked as a Research Biologist and Geneticist, and was a World Class Expert Equestrian. Lucy Hathway is survived by her only son, Nathan Hathway currently serving with the Pacific Fleet in the United States Navy; her brother, Robert Leonard Hathway of League City, Texas; her half-brother Scott Wisdom of San Angelo; one grand-daughter, Sidney Hathway of Honolulu, Hawai'i; and six nieces and nephews. Lucy was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her beloved Stepfather, Earl G. Wisdom. Lucy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brenda Owens and her staff, thanks to the staff at Odyssey Hospice, and acknowledge the care staff at Cedar Manor's Special Care facility.
