Lue Nettie Davis

Luenettie Davis, 93, of San Angelo, passed away on July 2, 2017. Luenettie Davis was born to Pollie Govan-McCrimmon and Sammie Govan on July 18, 1923 in Yard, Texas. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church for 70 years; spending time teaching, inspiring, encouraging, challenging, feeding, clothing her children as well as the community youth. Ms. Davis was also a member of St. Paul Church Food Ministry, Church Missionary, where they took gifts, read the Bible and singing to all at the nursing homes; she served on the Busy Bee Community Club, attends Aglow International, taught Vacation Bible School, a member of the St. Paul Baptist Choir and a member of the Golden Girls; all faith base and fund raising events to help the community; and from the smallest project to the largest project, she always did her best and let God do the Rest. Ms. Davis is survived by her, daughters, Linda Jackson of South Carolina, Evelyn (John) Smith of San Angelo, and sons, Warren (Denise) Davis of Chicago, Samuel Davis of San Angelo, brother, Sammie Casel of Fort Worth; twelve grand-children, eleven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Sammie Govan and Pollie Govan-McCrimmon and a son, Joe Earl Davis. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Charles J. Davis, officiating. Eulogy expressed by her son-in-law, Rev John H. Smith, assistant pastor, New Light Baptist Church S.A. Burial will take place in the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
