Sidney "Sid" Jay Mabry, 56 of Mertzon died April 17, 2008 at an area hospital following an automobile accident. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday April 21, 2008 at Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood, Texas with Denise Bloomquist, pastor of First Christian Church in Mertzon, officiating. Sidney was born August 11, 1951 in Columbia, Louisiana to William Woodrow and Frankie Lois Mabry. His family moved to Texas when he was about two years old. He was a carpenter and general contractor and later served as Irion county judge for 8 years and was most recently named the executive director of the Concho Valley Action Agency. Sidney loved to help people. Sid was married to his childhood sweetheart, Judy Myers, on September 18, 1971 in Iraan, Texas. They shared 36 wonderful years together. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Judy Mabry of Mertzon; two brothers, William Woodrow Mabry Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Amarillo and Danny Mabry and his wife, Tammy of Mesquite; two sisters, Dennice Holly of Iraan and Lynn Crawford and her husband, David of Roswell, N.M. and his father in law, Hayden Myers and numerous nieces and nephews and friends
