Malvana White, 93 of San Angelo died Friday August 15, 2008 at an assisted living facility. Family visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday August 17, 2008 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday August 18, 2008 at the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Proctor, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, San Angelo, officiating. Malvana was born July 26, 1915 in Shining Banks, Alberta, Canada to Dr. Thomas Jefferson "T.J." and Nannye Byrd Caraway Percifull. She married Estes "Jack" White in Christoval, TX., on September 5, 1942 and they shared 50 wonderful years together until his passing on October 13, 1991. After her first love, "Jack"; she loved Elvis and visited Graceland in 2000, fulfilling her lifetime dream. Malvana was a school teacher for 38 years, her early teaching was at Sherwood and she spent most of those years were teaching 3rd grade in North Heights Elementary School in Del Rio. She and her husband made many friends during those special years on both sides of the border. Her students might not have known; but she was good friends with the owners of Ma Crosby', Lando's and the Corona Club and loved to hang out there with her friends. Her red hair and fiery attitude caused her family to call her the "Red Headed Texas Pistol". She was much loved and will be missed and fondly remembered. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister; Blanche Percifull Watson of San Angelo; two nieces; Kay Watson Foley and husband, Phillip, of San Angelo, and Patricia Ann Watson of Lewisville, TX., twin nephews; Thomas Lynn Watson and wife, Myeong of Springfield, VA., and Alan Glynn Watson and wife, Mona of Lakewood, WA., Great nieces are Stephanie Watson and Katie Watson of Springfield, VA., and Anna Claire Watson of Lakewood, WA.; Great nephews are Shane Hill and wife, Amy of San Angelo; Brian Watson of Springfield, VA., Sean Watson and Michael Watson, both of Lakewood, WA.; Great-Great niece and nephew are Hannah Hill and Riley Hill of San Angelo, TX., numerous cousins and numerous friends from their years in Del Rio. The family wishes to thank the staff for the loving care given to Malvana at Royal Estates, Myrtlewood Estates and to Hospice of San Angelo and special thanks to her caregivers; Marsha and Vanessa.
