MARIA R. PEREZ

Maria R. Perez, 89, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at a local hospital. Maria was born on December 18, 1918 in Del Rio, TX to Jesus and Máxima Rodriguez. She married Jesus Deanda Perez on June 14, 1938 in San Angelo. Maria's life shows a long history of devotion and caregiving, from her dedication to caring for her younger siblings to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a member of Templo Jerusalem Assembly of God, where she served as a deacon and participated actively in women's ministry. A prayer service was held at 7:00p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 31, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Templo Jerusalem Assembly of God 1819 Volney St with Pastor Carlos Caballero officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus. D. Perez; a son, Antonio Perez; and a grandson, Rick Perez. She is survived by her sisters Esther Ramirez, Rachel Sanchez, and Ginger Acebedo; her children Albert Perez and wife Dominga; Delores Garcia; Jesusita Vantine and husband Ron; Alice Torres and husband Dan; Rosalinda Gonzales; Linda Guerra and husband Albert, all of San Angelo; grandchildren Brenda Garcia; Laura De La Cruz; Paul Garcia; Ralph Garcia of San Antonio; Alvino Ray Garcia of Dallas; Lisa Hernandez; Ronnie Vantine Jr.; Alan Vantine; Tessa Torres; Leroy Torres; Lenora Perez of Forth Worth; Tony Perez of California; Susan Cortez; Tony Gonzales of Dallas; Michael Gonzales of Dallas; Jesse Martinez Jr., of Dallas; Amanda Monsivais; Christopher Joe Martinez of Anchorage, Alaska; thirty-one great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are grandsons Paul Garcia, Alvino Ray Garcia, Ronnie Vantine Jr., Michael Gonzales, Jesse Martinez, Jr., and Mike Hernandez. The family sends special thanks to Dr. Denver Marsh for his many years of care and to Mary, Alice, and Chaplain Mike with Hospice of San Angelo.
