Marilyn Glover Walker, 70, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in San Angelo, Texas. She was born to E. G. (Bill) and Lida Glover in San Angelo, Texas on May 23, 1945. She graduated from Central High School and Angelo State University. Marilyn married Phillip Walker on December 17, 1966. Marilyn was known for her giving nature. She chose to make caring for her family and her neighbors her life's work and her ministry. After her children were in school, she held several jobs in the bookkeeping field, and excelled there as well. Her skill in gardening and cooking was much appreciated and loved by her family and friends. She and her husband were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Mertzon and First Baptist Church of San Angelo, and most recently of Southland Baptist Church of San Angelo. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Lewis Gardner, her sister-in-law Janna Lambert, and her brother-in-law Roger Lambert. Her legacy of caring and giving will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Phillip, her daughter, Susan Matthews of Austin, her son, Jim Walker of San Angelo, her sister, Rose Marie Glover Gardner of Austin, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herman and Deanne Walker of Kerrville, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family, who love her dearly. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 1:00 pm at Fairmount Cemetery, led by Dr. Taylor Sandlin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to Meals for the Elderly of San Angelo.
