Martha Pauline Grubbs, 87, of San Angelo passed away Monday, June 27, 2022.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2022 with family visitation from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at First Baptist Church Leavell Chapel with Senior Pastor Greg Breedlove, officiating.
Mrs. Grubbs was born on September 20, 1934 in Ringling, Oklahoma. She graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas. Martha married James Grubbs on April 14, 1956 at Carswell Air Force base in Fort Worth. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary, in the hospital, before his passing on April 16, 2003. Martha moved to San Angelo in 1972 and worked in civil services as a purchasing agent at Goodfellow Air Force Base. She was an active member at First Baptist Church, serving on numerous committees and volunteering. Martha also volunteered in the gift shop at Angelo Community Hospital for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, needlework, playing games, traveling, and visiting with her friends. Most of all Martha loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Grubbs; her daughter, Martha Lynn Grubbs; and her grandson, Corey Wayne Grubbs.
Martha is survived by two children, Ellen Riddles and husband Ross of Flower Mound and Gary Grubbs and wife Crystal of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; four grandchildren, April Grubbs of San Antonio, Amanda Boyd and husband Jimmy of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Alex Riddles of Flower Mound, and Aaron Grubbs of San Angelo; 10 great-grandchildren, David Boyd, Annalysia Boyd, Robert Boyd, Christopher Boyd, Joseph Boyd, Meranda Boyd, Hailey Boyd, Melanie Grubbs, Jaxson Allen, and Camryn Varela.
