Marvin Goetz Marvin Goetz, 74, of Vancourt, passed away on January 13, 2012, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, January 16, 2012 at Wall Brethren Church with the Rev. Tommy Tallas of Wall Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Marvin was born in Taylor, Texas to Carl & Rosa Goetz on January 9, 1938. He was confirmed in Eola Lutheran Church in 1950 and graduated from Eola High School in 1956. Marvin married Dorothy Sue Holsenbeck on August 21, 1965 in Eola, Texas, with whom he had 2 children. After her passing, he married Mary Elizabeth Sharp Craft on September 1, 1977 in Veribest, Texas. He worked as a farmer & business owner for 40 years & for Vigortone Ag Products for 12 years. Over the years, he served on the Board of Elders for multiple churches. He had also received Conservation Farmer of the Year & Vigortone Salesman of the Year. Marvin will always be remembered for his strength, compassion, & wry sense of humor. He loved working outdoors, whether farming the land or building something with his own two hands. He was able to stay in the home that he loved, on the land that has been in his family for over seventy years. He developed a love of cooking and enjoyed serving family & friends whenever he could. His greatest joy seemed to be the gathering of family & friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know him. Marvin is preceded in death by parents Carl & Rosa Muery Goetz, wife Dorothy Sue Holsenbeck Goetz, & granddaughter Lauren Lee. Marvin is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Susie" Goetz; sisters, Gladys Jones & Ruth Goetz, both of San Angelo; children, Ellen Goetz of Flower Mound, Don Goetz and wife Susan of Amarillo, Laquita Lee and husband Steve of Jacksonville, AR, Bobby Craft and wife Donna of San Angelo, Benny Craft and wife Kelly of Sandia and Kenny Craft of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Brandon Kleibrink, Brittany Kleibrink and their father Ricky Kleibrink, Keegan Goetz, Kelsea Goetz, Kaleigh Goetz, Richard Lee, Melissa Craft, Justin Craft, Shannon Seale, Sabellah Perron, Alaura Perron, and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Pallbearers will be Wayne Dusek, Ed Lisoski, Tim Mercer, J.E. Powell, Lance Powell and Tim Wagner. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of San Angelo, P.O.
