Marvin Eugene Stoner

Marvin Eugene Stoner, 91, ended his earthly journey on January 9, 2018. He was born September 17, 1926 in Garnett, Kansas to E. R. and Hazel Stoner. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1944. He then joined the U. S. Navy and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He married Martha Pauline "Polly" Skidmore in 1947. He moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico where he worked at Holloman Air Force Base. He then moved to Odessa, Texas where he worked for Miether Machine Works and SMC. He moved to San Angelo in 1993. After retirement he and Polly spent many years traveling in their RV. Marvin loved the Lord and served Him in various capacities. He was a member of Southland Baptist Church and then Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Polly. He is survived by his three children: Gary and Belinda Stoner of Sachse, Texas; Diane and Dan Batko of San Angelo, Texas; and James and Kathy Stoner of Conroe, Texas. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Dorothy Stoner of Tempe, Arizona. Marvin also had 5 grandchildren: Greg Stoner, Kendall Williams, Haley and Bryan Stoner, and Justin Batko; along with five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend Ruby Moore. Family Visitation is 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Marvin's funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
