Mary Ellen Brown

Mary Ellen Brown, 75 of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at an Austin care center.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday December 14, 2012 at Belvedere Memorial Park with Chaplain Jim Benson officiating. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mary Ellen was born September 17, 1937 in Bowie, Tx. to William Floyd and Julia (Hicks) Yates. She quit school in the 10th grade to work and later at the age of 53 received her GED. She Retired from Ethicon after 30 years and like the monthly retiree dinners. Mary Ellen attended Belmore Baptist and Harris Ave Baptist Church. She loved to cook, read, play the piano, crochet and embroidery. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ozell Rainey, Marcells Clark and Peggy Baldwin; brother, Donald Yates and a daughter, Teresa Valene Brown.

Survivors include her sons; Benton Brown and wife, Janie of Dale, Tx., Shannon Brown and wife, Bonnie; stepdaughter, Amber Rodden; grandsons; Brandon Brown, Justin Brown all of Leander, Tx. Donations in Mary Ellen's memory may be given to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
