Mary Beth Golson

Mary Beth Truesdell Golson left this earth on Saturday May 14, 2016, and went into the loving, strong arms of Jesus. She loved unconditionally, and her willingness and ability to love, laugh and forgive was her greatest testimony. She was born on September 17, 1955, in Iraan, Texas to William Thomas (Tom) and Merle Murphy Truesdell. She spent her life in West Texas, where she attended Fort Stockton High School and Odessa College. In 1979 she married Jake Golson, and to this union her children were born. She worked in offices in the oilfield, and later in the insurance and finance sectors. She loved her family with all of her heart, and serving them was her greatest pleasure. She was an excellent cook and could make the most delicious cherry pies. She painted beautiful pictures, discussed politics with a passion, and loved to follow the weather (always finding the rainbow). She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Truesdell. She is survived by her children, Kala Golson Knighton of San Angelo, and Wade Golson of Georgetown; her mother Merle Truesdell; her precious grandchildren Jaden Knighton and Katelyn Knighton, her sisters Lois Truesdell Wagley (Jody), and Lisa Truesdell all of San Angelo; brother Tom Truesdell (Yvonne) of Canyon Lake; four nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and special family friend Dorothy Douthit. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18 at Robert Massie Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel, with Jerry Roach, pastor of Victory Christian Church officiating. Burial will be will be at Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas at 3:00 pm. The Family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Shannon Hospital, Methodist Hospital in Dallas, HOSA, and UIL for the love and support shown during her battle with cancer. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15
