Mary Hayes Wunderl

Mary Hayes Wunderl, 96, of San Angelo, passed courageously after a short illness on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was born on February 5, 1920 to John and Elizabeth (Howell) Hayes in Osceola, TX. Later after moving to San Angelo she met and married Joe Wunderl, the highlight of her life was raising her four children. She was preceded in death by parents, daughter, Mary Ann Wunderl Omar, son, Joseph Martin Wunderl, grandson, Charles Burks, sisters, Lucille Farmer, Florene Hensley, Dorothy Lowe, Doris Anderson, Patricia Franklin and a brother, Billy Hayes. Mary is survived by her son, John Wunderl and wife, Dori of San Angelo; daughter, Adele Wunderl Waring of Austin, TX; five grandsons, Will Burks, Asher Wunderl, Tony Wunderl, Hayes Waring, and Charles Waring; two granddaughters, Renee Burks Butler, Farrah Wunderl Gomez; 9 great grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Sue Lowe Sims of San Angelo, Joanna Hensley Pope of Marble Falls and Malcolm Hensley of Round Rock. And numerous other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Belvedere Memorial Park, with Jim Wilkerson, officiating. Burial will take place in the Belvedere Memorial Park under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
