Mauro O. Carrillo, 90, of San Angelo passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 in San Angelo.
Public viewing will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Rosary will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with Deacon Claudio Sanchez, officiating.
Mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Juan Lopez-Cortez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Carrillo was born on January 15, 1932 in Durango, Mexico to Concepcion and Maria Ortiz Carrillo. He met and married the love of his life, Tomasa Reyes, in Mexico. She passed away on July 19, 2000. Mauro moved to the United States on January 26, 1972, residing in California. Later they moved to San Angelo where he worked at Valley Protein, B-W Foundry, Twin Mountain Fencing. Mauro's love was being a ranch hand on ranches in California and Texas.
As Mauro got older and relaxed, he would spend hours driving around picking up pecans and cans. He always enjoyed talking to friends and family about anything and was a huge jokester.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Ernestina Carrillo and Lucero Carrillo.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Rosa Carrillo, Perla Mendoza and husband Gasper, Patricia Ramirez and husband Bernardino, and Lorena Carrillo, all of San Angelo; three sons, Rodrigo Carrillo of Eden, Mauro Carrillo, Jr. and wife Veronica and Guillermo Carrillo and wife RoseMary, both of San Angelo; a brother, Olivero Carrillo of Del Rio, 29 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
