Murry Johnson, 84, of San Angelo, Teas passed away on October 27, 2005 in Pineville, Louisiana. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2005 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. John E. Lacy and Rev. Henry Green officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military rites will be at Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Murry was born in Hallsville, Texas to Arella Wilkerson and Charlie Johnson. He married Hattie Lucille Newhouse on the 28th of July 1942. He was in the military for 20 years. He was a Veteran of World War II, and served in the Air Force and received a Good Conduct Medal with one silver loop and the Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Bronze Oak Leaves. He was a Deacon in Church, a 32nd Degree Master Mason, and in the Lions Club. Murry owned and operated the Esquire Barber Shop for thirty years before retiring. Two sisters, four brothers, father and mother preceded Murry in death. Murry is survived by his wife, Hattie Lucille Johnson; daughter Louise Butler and husband, William; daughter Patricia Richardson and husband, Charles; son Murry Johnson Jr. and wife, Christine; two sisters Ivy Nell Dixson and Lillie B. King; two brothers Lloyd Johnson and Boyd Johnson; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Al Padilla, Ralph Powell, Sam Green, Willie Shields, Leslie Duncan and George Riles. Memorials will be given to Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
