Nancy Krasny

Nancy Lee Krasny, 83, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Dahlberg and Rev, Tamara Strehli, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Nancy was born in Nacogdoches, to Sam and Roxie McInnis on August 21, 1940. She graduated from Texas Christian University (TCU) with a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1962. Nancy started her 30-year teaching career at Bradford Elementary in San Angelo before moving to Amarillo. She also lived in Ft. Worth, Mineral Wells, Abilene, Granbury and Austin before moving back to San Angelo. Nancy retired from her teaching career in 1995 at Alta Loma Elementary, also in San Angelo, where she taught for 22 years.

Nancy was an active member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. She joined the church in 1975 where she played a large role in defining the heart of Sierra Vista. Nancy went on Emmaus Walk #17 in 1984 and she was called to a life of service. She participated in numerous walks, working in any area that was needed, culminating as lay director in 1998. She implemented a 12-step recovery plan in Sunday school format at Sierra Vista, helping families that were dealing with alcohol, drug, divorce, and relationship problems. In 2009, Nancy was presented with the San Angelo District of the United Methodist Church's Super Star Award. Nancy continued to help and pray for those in need until her passing.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Mitchell Krasny, and her grandson, Joel Coleman. She is survived by her sons, Mike Coleman and Kenneth Coleman, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
