Oscar Rios, Sr.

Oscar Rios, Sr., 62, of Big Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with a prayer service at 5:30 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. There will also be a viewing from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Agape Assembly of God Church in Eldorado with funeral services starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Oscar was born on September 2, 1961 in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico to his parents, Lazaro and Diamantina Rios. He lived in Belton where he worked for a rock crushing company; Eldorado and Big Lake, working in the oilfield for over 35 years. At the time of his death, he was a backhoe operator for WTX oilfield services. He married the love of his life Sylvia Sanchez on August 4, 1989 in Belton. Oscar loved to watch soccer, his favorite team was Las Chivas and spend time outdoors. He was very proud of his garden and the large sunflowers he raised. Oscar was always joking with friends and family, trying to make everyone laugh.

He had a strong christian faith, a love for Christ and was a member of Roca Eterna Church in Big Lake. Oscar went on mission trips to Acuña, Mexico. Oscar had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and Welo.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, Lazaro Rios, his mother, Diamantina Rios, and a brother, Lazaro Rios, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sylvia; his two children, Linda Rios Jenkins and husband Jon and Homero Rios, Jr and fiancé Eloisa, all of San Angelo; seven siblings, Ruben Rios and wife Rosie of Eldorado, Jose Rios and wife Gloria of Belton, Hugo Rios of Eldorado, Raul Rios and wife Mary, Norma Hernandez and husband Tony, Lile Sanchez and husband Guillermo, and Maricela Estrada and husband Pedro all of Eldorado; six grandchildren, Kyson Anderson, Adonis Rios, Brooklyn Anderson, Josiah Mireles, Preston Rios, and Olivia Rios.
