Patsy Koenig ascended to heaven on Saturday morning August 10, 2013. She was born on November 22, 1936 in Brownfield, Texas to Luster Perkins and Edna Martin Perkins. She was the middle child with 6 siblings. She married Harvey Koenig on August 31,1957 in Fredericksburg, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Harvey Koenig of San Angelo, TX; her adored puppy dog Majestic Bud; daughter Margie Graham of Abilene, TX; son Johnny Koenig of Hattiesburg, MS; son Roy Koenig of Austin, TX; daughter Judy Shockey of Abilene, TX; older brother Lee Perkins of Weatherford, TX; younger sister Ann Burk of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law Mae Preas of San Angelo, TX; aunt Virginia Sparks of San Angelo, TX; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her baby brother Ray Lee Perkins and beloved sisters Winnie Jones, Esther Sharpes and Gussie Burk. She tried her hand at several jobs in life including a soda fountain jerk and a nurse's aide. But mostly she made a living as a seamstress, a skill she shared with her mother. After retiring from RG Barry Manufacturing she opened her own sweet shoppe - Pat Koenig's World of Cakes... and they were scrumptious and beautiful works of art indeed. She made many many cakes for weddings, birthdays and special occasions, not to mention the cookies, pies and candies. She could also make a mean chicken-fried venison that would melt in your mouth! She could whip-up the flakiest biscuits from scratch - no need for a fancy recipe... top that with her creamy milk gravy and you are in comfort food heaven. It's during this time she also served as Secretary to the San Angelo Women's Bowling League. She loved getting together with her bowling buddies and traveling across country to tournaments and seeing the sights and attractions. She treasured the memories of those trips with her friends and spoke of them often. She not only gave me life, she passed on many life-long lessons pertaining to patience, tolerance and charity. Thank you mama for all those wonderful memories we made. She loved her family, her friends and our Lord Jesus Christ. We are all comforted knowing that she now soars with the angels in a far better place. For as long as I can remember Carl and Jean McMahon have helped both mom and dad with errands, appointments, repairs, chores, prayers - you name it and they've done it. My family would especially like to thank them from the bottom of our heart for going above and beyond a normal friendship. They are truly a Godsend. Services will be Wednesday at 10:00am on August 14th at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel in San Angelo, Texas. Burial will be at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Patsy's obituary and memorial guestbook may be viewed online at www.RobertMassie.com
