Rosita Messina Patzig, 79, of San Angelo passed away Saturday July 23, 2005 in a local nursing home. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Fairmount Cemetery with Deacon Abel Fernandez officiating. She was born in Messina, Italy on August 25, 1925 to Carmelo and Sebastiana O. Messina. She met and married W. J. Patzig, a dashing United States Air Force helicopter pilot from Tulsa, Oklahoma. They retired to San Angelo after his military career which took them all over the world. Rosita was preceded in death by her husband W.J. Patzig and a brother, Giovanni Messina. Survivors include a son, Glen Patzig of Kansas, a daughter, Nancy Patzig of Germany; and two sisters, Nerina Groombridge and her husband, Cedric and Anita Zubal both of North Hampton, England; and her good friends, Martha and Armando Martinez of San Angelo Rosita was in Real Estate and a home builder during her working years. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Riverside Nursing home and Vista Care Hospice for the warm and loving care given to Mrs. Patzig.
