Pedro "Pete" Lira Pete Lira, 48 of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Thursday June 30, 2011 at an area care center. Rosary will be 6:00 PM Sunday July 3, 2011 at Kerbow Funeral Home in Sonora. Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday July 4, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Sonora with Rev. Lionel Fernando, officiating. Burial will follow at Sonora Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pete was born November 21, 1962 in Eagle Pass to Antonio B. and Maria Isabel Aleman Lira. Pete grew up in Sonora and played football in junior high for the Bronco's. He worked in the oilfield in Sonora for many years. He loved music and dancing and having a good time. Pete was an avid car fan and owned several auto detail shops, include Pete's Quality Detail Shop in Kerrville. He loved his nieces and nephews and never met a stranger. Pete was a loving brother and good friend to many. He will be missed by all who every met him, especially by those he teased, mostly his sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be S. J. Samwell, Jesse Galvan, Christopher Favila, Jesse Galvan, Anthony Hernandez, C. J. Lira, Victor Lira and Ponciano Castillo Survivors include his sisters; Carmen Lira of San Angelo, Rita Favila and husband, Randy of Arlington, Maria Hernandez and husband, Francisco, Dora Galvan and husband, Francisco all of Sonora, Melissa Lira of San Angelo; brothers; Victor Lira and wife, Sarah of Midland and Luis Lira and wife, Isabel of Sonora; two special children that he raised as his own; S. J. and Kari, and numerous nephews and nieces and many friends. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at San Angelo Community Hospital for the hard work and caring while we were there.
