Percy J. Pace, 88, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Bryan, TX. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo with Robert Tate, a good friend and a US Navy Retired Chaplin, officiating. Prior to graveside services a visitation viewing will be held at Robert Massie Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Percy was born in San Angelo, TX to A. J. Pace and Lillie Henderson Pace on November 22, 1920. He was married to Allena Wilbarger Kinney. He graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of 1944 and received a Masters from A&M in 1968. He retired as a school administrator from Huntsville ISD. He was a veteran of WW II, European Theater, receiving 3 Bronze Stars as well as the Korean Conflict serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was involved in AARP as a State Officer in retirement, various professional organizations, the Baptist Church, and several organizations of his beloved Texas A&M... Percy was truly an Aggie. Percy was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his wife. Percy is survived by Jay C. Tice of El Paso, son, Amber Tice Cancel of Mansfield, granddaughter, and nieces Carolyn Cokely of San Antonio and Ilene Scott of Houston, daughters of LeeO Boatwright. Pallbearers will be Jay Tice and Bryan Cancel.
