Perry Wilson Reed, 88, passed away on June 22, 2007 at his home in San Angelo, Texas. Funeral services will be held 2p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin McSpadden officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mr. Reed was born on August 27, 1918 to Claude and Roxie Reed in Woodford, Oklahoma. He moved to Slaton, Texas, with his family in 1928. After graduation from Slaton High School, he joined the Air Force on June 29, 1940. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1960 after a career in aircraft maintenance. After this retirement, he worked at for San Angelo ISD as maintenance supervisor at Central High School for 22 years. After his second retirement, he enjoyed travel with his RV group as well as fishing and tinkering in his shop. He loved watching old cowboy movies and he will certainly be remembered for his ability to fix or build almost anything. He was a friend to everyone and his steadfast independence was greatly admired. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. He married Winnie Faye Ray August 2, 1942. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his children: Joe Reed and wife Lynn of San Angelo; Jack Reed and wife Jan of Midland; Jerry Reed and wife Barbara of Belton; Jayne Bledsoe and husband Gary of Belton; two brothers, Wesley Reed and wife Bess of Lubbock and Bill Reed and wife Mary Lou of Slaton; sister-in-law Billie McGough and brothers-in-law Chuck McGough and John Covington; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and his lifelong friends J.B.
