Prestine Blumentritt, 79, of San Angelo, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at her home in San Angelo. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2010 with immediate family receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 11, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Randall Wehmeyer of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Christopher Blumentritt, David Behrend, Rupert Robbins, Clifford Robbins, Monte Montgomery and Dale Wilde. Prestine was born in Sterling County to Jessie Preston and Mae Davis on May 31, 1931. She traveled throughout the Southwest United States and graduated from Bronte High School as well as San Angelo College. On December 7, 1957, she married Marvin M.V. Blumentritt in Odessa, Texas. For the next fifty years, she and Marvin served as business and civic leaders in San Angelo. Armed with a generous spirit and desire to help those less fortunate, Prestine became a pioneer in the Texas mobile home industry. She and Marvin also acquired and sold landmark properties, including both the old San Angelo National Bank and the Guaranty State Bank buildings on Twohig and Chadbourne. Prestine is preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 2005 after 47-years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her father and mother from Bronte, and her sister Mary Robbins from San Angelo. Prestine is survived by David Blumentritt of Hitchcock, Texas, and grandchildren Carla of Galveston and Jared of Colorado and Col. John W. Blumentritt, his wife Darlene, and grandchildren Christopher, Sonja, and Ashley of Schertz, Texas. Prestine always favored bright flowers. Also, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran School Tuition Assistance Fund. Prestine Blumentritt will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Beyond her immediate family, she was a true friend to hundreds of others less fortunate than herself.
