R D. MORRISON

R. D. Morrison, 90 of San Angelo died Saturday August 9, 2008 at an area hospital. Family visitation will be 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Monday August 11, 2008 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. on Tuesday August 12, 2008 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Tommy King, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. R.D. was born October 25, 1917 to Robert and Christeen Oakleaf Morrison in Paris, Texas. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force. R. D. was a hardworking farmer and loved every minute of it. He married Mattie Ellen Norman in San Angelo, TX., on July 14, 1940. They shared 30 wonderful years together, until her death on April 21, 1970. R. D. was a friend to everyone, youth, teens, middle-aged and old; he was able to connect with people of all ages. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, Aubrey Morrison, one sister, Robbie Shelton and two nephews, Randy Clifton and Shane Coleman and one niece, Valerie Sides. He is survived by his brother, Curtis Morrison and wife, Dorothy of San Angelo; sisters; Wilma Cunningham, Mary Nessmith, Joyce Barnes and husband, Larry; and Peggy Morrison all of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be Dwain Morrison, Cody Boling, Rodney Shelton, Royce Morrison, Gerald Coleman and Scott Morrison.
