RALPH W. RATHMELL

Ralph W. Rathmell, 93, of Mertzon TX, passed away on October 8, 2006 at a local nursing home in San Angelo, TX. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Spitler Funeral Home in Montoursville, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Spitler Funeral Home in Montoursville, PA with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery. Ralph Rathmell was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Harvey Eader Rathmell and Annie Seitzer Rathmell on October 24, 1912. He married Eleanor Elizabeth Cupp on July 14, 1934 in Williamsport, PA. He worked as a truck driver for Mushroom Transportation and owned his own coal truck. After retiring in 1970, he and Eleanor moved to Mertzon, TX and traveled back and forth to Pennsylvania during the winter and summer months. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, one son Lee Roy Rathmell, one great grand-daughter Allison Jo Cillo, one great-grandson Brian Steppe and three brothers Earl, Lee and Irvin Rathmell. Ralph is survived by his wife Eleanor Rathmell of Mertzon, three daughters Doris Shank of Mertzon, TX; Esther Thorp and husband Tom of Mertzon, TX; Kay Cillo and husband Adolph of Williamsport, PA; one son Ken Rathmell and wife Ann of Williamsport, PA; one daughter-in-law Janet Rathmell of Mertzon, TX; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-six great-grand children, seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
