Ramelle Clifton Parsons

Ramelle Clifton Parsons was born August 18, 1922 in Mitchell County to Edwin and Susan Clifton and passed away July 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held with her family on Tuesday July 19, 2016 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX directly followed by a burial service at the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pastor Taylor Sandlin of Southland Baptist Church, where Ramelle had been an active member for many years, will officiate the funeral and graveside services. Ramelle graduated from Westbrook High School, received her Bachelors in Science from McMurry University followed by a Masters degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She was married to Herman Parsons who has preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson, Josh Love. Ramelle and her husband moved to San Angelo in July, 1989 after retiring from a career in teaching. She loved and cherished every day as a teacher and it was a joy for her to work with the children at the elementary school. She absolutely loved the kids, the faculty, and the whole school teaching experience. Ramelle devoted herself to the profession of teaching in both Colorado City and Snyder before retiring after a career of 35 years. She showed kindness to others and never hesitated to help others in need. She was very proud of her volunteer work at Angelo Community Hospital and House of Faith for years. She will be remembered for her strong will, her sharp wit, and her sense of humor, which brought smiles to the faces of her friends and family. Ramelle's love for her family was without end. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had great joy in having them all in her life. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Love and six grand children; Kristina Bridges and husband Dywane, Josh Kornegay and wife Sharleen, Cassidy Zeiters and husband Camden, Tenea Love, Chris Love, and Michael Love. Ramelle also has three very special grandchildren, Ephraim Kornegay, Eisley Kornegay, and Braxton Zeiters and has a sister-in-law, Ruth Clifton of Abilene, Texas and seven nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be all the members of her Sunday School class, The "Joy" class of Southland Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Southland Baptist Building Fund, House of Faith, or any of your favorite charities. Ramelle's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Royal Estates, Robert Brewer, and Peggy Hunt of Kindred Hospice Care for the unconditional compassion and loving care provided over these last few months.
