Ramon Sanchez Florez

Ramon Sanchez Florez, 92, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Rosary will be at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Roy Contreras; Saul Contreras; Sammy Gatica; Joshua Gatica; Aaron Florez; and great grandson, Joseph Aguilar. Ramon was born January 2, 1923 to Jesus and Dolores Florez in Nava, Mexico. He married Rosa Hernandez on July 22, 1946 in San Angelo. He served in the military during WW II as a medic in the 91st Infantry Division Company C. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Florez; brothers, Pablo and Manuel Florez. Survived by sons, Ramon H. Florez; Israel Florez; Noe Florez; Edward Florez; daughters, Velma Contreras; and Sylvia Gatica. The family would like to thank Dr. Denver Marsh and Dr. Demory.
