Raymond Field Raymond Winslow Field, 83, ended his earthly journey on Saturday, October 17, 2009 to join our Heavenly Father. Ray passed away at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring. Ray was born on September 18, 1926 in Salem, Mass. He first joined the U.S. Navy and few years later, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was a proud member of one of the first security force units to be formed within the military. He served his time in the military with pride and traveled extensively throughout the world. He was transferred to Goodfellow AFB in 1969 and later retired as a Master Sergeant in San Angelo in 1972. After his retirement, he held several civilian positions in San Angelo. He devoted his free time to volunteering with the City of San Angelo Police Department. Ray was known for his crafts and poetry. He wrote numerous poems for his family and others who touched his life. His crafts brought smiles to many faces. His love of Boston Terriers was contagious and spread to the entire family. His first Boston Terrier, Snorty, is sure to be waiting at the 'œRainbow Bridge'� for him. A visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Robert Massie Funeral Home Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David McMinn, Jordan Green, Matthew Wilde, Jerry Green, Jeramy Couvion, Scooter McMinn, and Jacob Moore. Robert Field will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lillienne and Robert; daughter, Darlene; son, Wray; and a sister, Anna. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Barbara; three of his children, Demo McMinn and her husband Scooter; Robert Field and Carol Smith; his grandchildren, Dawn Templin and her husband Tim, David McMinn and his wife Cynthia; Krysta Veliz and her husband Sandro; Matthew Wilde; PFC Jeramy Couvion; and Jordan Green; his great grandchildren, Jacob Moore; Bryce Barrigan; D.J. McMinn; Marcus Veliz; Cyera McMinn; and Camren Veliz all of San Angelo; and two of his sisters, Pauline Armstrong of Danvers, Mass and Dell Bertrand of Peabody, Mass. Ray'™s continuing efforts to contend with Hollywood'™s best in 'œGrumpy Old Men'� will forever be fondly remembered. We love you, Pepaw and will miss you!
