Raymond Pelton

Raymond Pelton, 41, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, in San Angelo.

Public visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 7, 2025, at Southgate Church of Christ with Mr. Paul Shero, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Raymond Pelton was born August 31, 1983 in Alpine, Texas to Thomas and Rosa Pelton. Raymond was a 2002 graduate of Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he received the Gatorade Player of the Year award in baseball. He attended El Paso Community College, University of New Mexico, and he received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Lubbock Christian University. While at Lubbock Christian he pitched in the National Finals. Raymond was also selected as an All-American while at LCU. Raymond was a resident of San Angelo for the past 10 years, moving from Midland. Raymond married V'Lesha Wilcox on October 23, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for Apache Corp. as a measurement tech for 12 years, he previously worked for West Texas Gas in Midland. Raymond attended Southgate Church of Christ. He loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and coaching his children in softball, soccer, and baseball. Raymond loved spending time with his family. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan since childhood and would often be seen wearing his Atlanta Braves 59/Fifty cap. He was thoughtful and willing to help anyone, anywhere. Raymond was an amazing son, an exceptional husband, and the best daddy to his 3 children.

Survivors include his wife, V'Lesha of the home; two daughters, Palmer Pelton and Parker Pelton both of the home; a son, Paxton Pelton of the home; his mother, Rosa Pelton of San Angelo; two brothers, Tom Pelton, and Robert Pelton both of San Angelo; his father and mother-in-law, Terry and Varla Wilcox of Friona; and V'Lesha's siblings, V'Lynda Barnett and husband Kevin, V'Laura Sundlie and husband Justin, and Tolby Wilcox and wife Jen; as well as four nieces; and sis nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Pelton, Sr.
