RAYMOND C. SOLIS, SR.

Raymond C. Solis, Sr., 76, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 in a Lubbock hospital. Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Emilio Sosa officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Raymond was born on September 26, 1934 in Brady, TX to Edward and Adela (Cortez) Solis. He worked as a truck driver before retiring. Raymond married the love of his life Elidia Martinez in 1966 in Brady, TX. She preceded him in death on February 11, 1998. He then married Maria Victoria Aguirre in December 2005. Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Solis in 2008. Raymond is survived by wife, Maria Victoria Solis of San Angelo; a daughter, Dolores Yzaguirre of Lubbock; sons, Robert Solis and Raymond Solis, Jr. both of Lamesa; sons, Johnny Gloria, Oscar Gloria; daughter Esmeralda Huerta; sons, Joe Ray Solis, Eddie Solis; daughters, Edna Solis, Norma Solis and Melba Solis all of Brady; brothers, Gilbert Solis and Paul Solis, sister, Elitha Pena all of San Angelo; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
