Rebecca Jeanette Hammack died Friday, April 20, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was 82. Local arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home; Fort Worth arrangements are by Mt. Olivet Funeral Home. Rebecca was born May 18, 1922, in Francis, Okla., to Jesse Clifford Hembree Sr. and Vallie Elizabeth McFadden. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in Forth Worth in 1940. During World War II, Rebecca was active in the United Service Organizations (USO). During that time, she danced with William Holden and Robert Taylor. Rebecca married James W. Hammack Jan. 10, 1948, in Weatherford and the couple lived most of their married life in the Fort Worth area. A retired legal secretary, Rebecca was a charter member of the Legal Secretaries Association. In 1973, she and James bought Hamm's Silk Screen, which they operated for 30 years. She was a lifetime member National Rifle Association and a member of the Texas State Rifle Association. Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, a brother, Richard; a grandson, Craig Alan Traywick; and a niece, Ann Marie Hembree. She is survived by two daugthers, Tommye Jean Willberg and her husband, Mike, of Vancourt, and Rebecca Janelle Belardi and her husband, Douglas, of Fort Worth; two brothers, Tom Loughrey and his wife, Nora, of Weatherford, and Jesse Hembree and his wife, Mardy, of Cooper; a sister, Grace Webb and her husband, Jodie, of Crane; five grandchildren, Allyson Reynolds Dixon of San Angelo, Davye Zeigler of Tupelo, Miss., Stacey Simpson of New Albany, Miss., Tony Brem of LaCrosse, Wis., and Josh Brem of Vancourt. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren Bobby Morris, Eric Reynolds, Gina Morris, Tommye Jean Smith, Mikki Smith, Kristopher Smith, Spencer Newmann, Dakota Zeigler, Savannah Zeigler, Michael Dixon, Alexandra Newmann and Ryder Brem. Rebecca also is survived by her special friends, Flora Willberg and Nancy Book. A memorial rosary will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, with a memorial Mass at 9 a.m. Monday, April 25, at St. Ambrose with Father Tom Barley officiating. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
