Reynaldo G. Ornelas, 61 of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 8, 2013. Rosary will be 7:00pm Friday November 15, 2013 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Saturday November 16, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow at Knickerbocker Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Reynaldo was born March 30, 1952 in San Angelo to Jose Martinez and Juaquina "Chata" (Galan) Ornelas. Reynaldo served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Our father was a very honorable man who took pride in everything he did. He was very skilled carpenter; there was nothing he could not build or fix. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He valued his family and friends most of all. Reynaldo was a very happy person and could be counted on to make you laugh and put a smile on every face. Pallbearers will be Freddie Escobedo, Ricky Zuniga, Fernando Lavaris, Raymond Deleon, Felipe Ornelas and Armando Holguin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mario Martinez, Vicente Holguin, Luis Ibarra and Dennis Pruitt He is preceded in death by his father and the mother of his children, Hilda Caballero. Survivors include his mother; Juaquina "Chata" Ornelas of San Angelo; daughters; Jackie Escobedo and husband, Freddie of Abilene, Yvette Zuniga and husband, Ricky of San Angelo, Rosario Lavaris and husband, Fernando of Abilene and Leticia Ornelas of San Angelo, sisters; Adelina Ornelas Holguin and husband, Henry of San Angelo, Estella Ibarra and husband, Luis of Mertzon, Diana Reeves of San Angelo and Elsa Ornelas and Vickie Enriques of San Angelo, grandchildren; Cynthia Escobedo of San Angelo, Alfredo Escobedo, Colby Ornelas both of Abilene, Zachary Zuniga of San Angelo, Samantha Lavaris and Sabrina Lavaris, both of Abilene, Jonathan Ornelas, Gabriela Ornelas, both of San Angelo and Dana Danielle Olmos of Abilene; nieces and nephews; Mary Ann Martinez, Joe Luis Holguin, Vicente Holguin, Elizabeth Keller, Ronnie Ornelas Roberts and James Aaron Reeves and eight grand nieces and three grand nephews.
