RICHARD LEON HOWARD

Richard Leon Howard, 62, of Cape Coral, Florida went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 7, 2011 after a battle with heart disease and cancer. A Memorial Service will be at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Richard was born on April 18, 1948 to Hobart and Mildred (Nelson) Howard in Redding, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lisa Leeanne. Richard is survived by his sons, Erik Howard and his wife Regina of San Angelo, Texas; and Jason Howard of Colorado. Granddaughters, Kara Howard and Krystal Howard both of San Angelo, Texas. A brother, Dennis Howard and his wife Sandi of Ferndale, Washington and nieces, Cheryl Harwager and Caryn Johnson from Washington. A special thanks goes to his girlfriend, Lucy Cruz for taking care of Richard during his illness. He enjoyed going to and watching sports events, mainly Baseball. He enjoyed reading books and there probably wasn't a Trivia question he couldn't answer. He was well known as "Shrek"�to his grand children and neighborhood kids. When he told a story he had to have total hand and body movement. He enjoyed socializing, and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family.
