Sunset: May 3, 2021
Ricky Eugene Lacy, Sr., 61, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, in San Angelo. He was known to most as Ricky Red or Dirty Red. However, his family affectionately called him Daddy, Papa, Uncle Ricky or simply Red.
Mr. Lacy was born December 15, 1959 in San Angelo where he has been a lifelong resident. Ricky spent 32 years as an automobile technician; 22 years was spent with Gentle Touch Fast Lube where he unexpectedly had to take early retirement due to a sudden illness. Ricky loved his family and had great respect for his friends. You could always find Ricky somewhere on somebody's charcoal grill cooking for his people. He became known as the "Grill Master" and yes, he earned bragging rights.
Ricky was a kind man with a gentle soul a simple no nonsense kind of guy. He spent his entire life in San Angelo amongst family and friends. He loved The Dallas Cowboys and he represented them well. One could always find him at cookouts, playing dominoes or playing a simple hand of spades. Ricky was also a comedian who would have you laughing so hard it would literally hurt your gut. Ricky, you leave us with such fond memories that will last our lifetime.
Ricky leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, his two children, son Ricky Lacy, Jr, and daughter April Lacy both of San Angelo; he leaves nine grandchildren, Lexie Joy, Abigail Grace, Jaidaven Ray, Aneesa Renee, Makaylah Lacy, Marcus Parker, Jr., Ariyanah Parker, Brendon Titus, De'Miyah Titus; one great grandson, Liam Jace Lacy; his life partner, Kara Martinez of San Angelo; two brothers, Michael Lacy and Anthony Lacy and wife Leticia of Dallas - Ft. Worth; two sisters, Pat Lacy of Ft. Worth, Terrilyn Lacy Smith and husband Timothy of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters-in -law, Geneva Lacy of San Angelo, and Jacqueline Lacy of Arlington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ida Lacy, Sr.; three brothers, Charles Lacy, Willie "Bill" Lacy, Sr., Harry Lacy, Jr., and three sisters, Melba Faye Lacy Jones, Josephine Effie Overall, and Susie Lacy Madkin.
Until we meet again, rest easy, Ricky, knowing we are all OK.
